Major Features of Dorel Living Recliner
Swivel Rotation
We were at first disappointed and surprised to discover that this Dorel model recliner did not have a swivelling rotation function included with it. That is, until we took our first seats in it and were blown away by the other things this chair has to offer. We were surprised because more often than not, modern recliners such as this usually include swivelling as it has become more and more important over the years. This, like so of the others recliners we’ve reviewed, is a prime example of mixing the beauty and features of modernisms with the foundation and layout of classic recliners.
Massage
The massaging functionality on this recliner is debatable. Some of our staff loved it but others didn’t feel it was even a real massage feature. Personally, I feel that it does the job and that while it is “just vibration”, it does provide a massage, at least for me it does. I have sat in recliners which featured more comfortable massaging capabilities, but I must say I’ve also sat in worse. Here we have one that is a little bit above average but won’t blow you away. You probably want to invest your money elsewhere if you want something more premium, but for the average consumer what this recliner features is more than enough.
Heating
Another feature that the chair lacks is heating. I’m not sure why they decided to leave it out when manufacturing this model, I feel like it wasn’t something that would be too difficult to do, but that’s not something I’m too caught up about. Right now, all of us here at Recliner Life are pleased with one thing above all, and we describe it in the next category.
Cushioning
This Dorel recliner has by far, one of the best cushioning/padding designs of any recliner. It is so soft and supports your lower back, legs, and arms so well that you never feel like getting up to leave. If it weren’t for how well this chair was in the cushioning department, we wouldn’t have had it so high on our list because of the areas it is lacking in. The debate for soft vs. firm always comes up for us, and this chair is perfect for you soft recliner lovers. Feel like taking a nap? Don’t hesitate to do so on this chair. Maybe leather would have been a nice touch and we always appreciate leather, but we won’t complain about the materials because we also feel that the material used currently just suits the design better.
Rocking and Reclining
This recliner does feature rocking and reclining. Reclining does go all the way down horizontally, so I guess that’s good news for those of who you like to sleep in your recliners. Rocking is also a feature of the recliner and it works great as well. Generally, there’s nothing too special about the rocking and/or the reclining with this chair but they’re good enough for most people.
Comfort
Make no mistake about it, Dorel impressed us and made a great chair that offers so many things that so many people can and will enjoy. Comfort is a given now with this model, and the phenomenal cushioning makes up for the features it doesn’t have like heating and swiveling. This recliner is perfect for those who are just looking for a relaxation chair with nothing fancy.
Design
There’s no denying that this is one of the most good-looking recliners being sold. Maybe that’s what first caught your eye. As design artists get more and more creative with these modern ideas, recliners become more and more sleek/elegant. Dorel has been known to try and make their products as luxurious looking as possible and we see that very clearly with this model.
Overall
The Dorel Living Padded Dual Massage Recliner is good at what it does, and what it does is cushion and support your body in a way like no other. If you’re looking exclusively for a model that has heating, swiveling, and/or better than average massaging capabilities, then this is probably not the chair for you.
